Villager hydraulics in Senegal
In a Sahelan country such as Senegal, the drinking water supplying is an essential aspect of the development.
It is traditionally made from wells but in the valley of the river Senegal, the river water is often used directly, especially between Dagana and Saint-Louis, where the water table is salt.
The villager hydraulics national policy aims at providing a water of high purity for all. It can be a simple well in an area where there is a low density of population, a sinking equipped with a manual pump or with a thermal pump or with local networks when the population is too important.
